Turkey – Turkish media reported that the Russian gas company, “Gazprom”, will become a sponsor of the Turkish football club, Besiktas, under a 5-year contract.
According to the information of the Turkish newspaper “Sözcü”, Besiktas will receive 60 million euros, in exchange for transferring the rights to the stadium name to the Russian company over a period of three years.
In the future, the amount for the other two years of the contract will be agreed upon.
The source pointed out that the president of the Besiktas club will travel to Russia next week, at the invitation of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Gazprom” Alexei Miller.
It is noteworthy that Besiktas club occupies the second place in the league table, following the 26th round, with 55 points, 8 points behind leaders Galatasaray, who played one less match.
