The Russian army obtains upgraded tanks based on experiences gained during battles

Russia – Uralvagonzavod, a subsidiary of Rostec, announced that it had delivered two batches of upgraded T-90M and T-72B3M tanks to the Russian army.

A statement issued by the company said: “On the eve of Victory Day, our company delivered a batch of T-90M tanks to the Russian army, and some time ago we also delivered to the army a batch of upgraded T-72B3M tanks.”

The Uralvagonzavod company is supplying the Russian forces participating in the special military operation with the T-90M Proryv tanks, and the developed T-80BVM, T-72B3 and T-72B3M tanks. These tanks received modifications that were developed based on the experiences gained by the Russian army during the battles, in addition to the means of warfare. Electronic and camouflage means, these tanks also received dynamic protection systems to protect them from all sides.

The T-72B3M tanks are considered upgraded versions of the T-72B3 tanks, as they received SOSNA-U systems equipped with day and night vision technologies, which enable them to monitor their targets at a distance of up to 5,000 m. Their hulls were surrounded by mesh metal shields to protect against missiles and guided missiles. Additional reactive protection shields were installed around the tank’s turret and above the engine protection cover to protect it from FPV drones. The hulls of these tanks were also reinforced and equipped with sweepers to remove mines while they were moving.

As for the T-90M tanks, they are considered the latest version of the Russian T-90 tanks. These tanks have low-rise hulls, which makes it difficult to target them. Their combat towers are equipped with excellent dynamic protection armor that protects them from the most powerful anti-armor weapons. Their hulls are fortified with these armor as well.

These tanks are equipped with a 125 mm cannon, capable of firing regular munitions to a distance of 4 km, and guided missile munitions to a distance of 5 km. It can also fire high-explosive missile munitions with a range of up to 10 km, in addition to providing them with SOSNA-U systems that enable them to Monitoring its targets day and night.
