The Russian army has taken full control of Mariupol

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu confirmed today, Wednesday, that the Russian army is imposing full control over the city of Mariupol.

“Normal life is returning to its course in the liberated areas of the republics of Lugansk, Donetsk and Ukraine, including in Mariupol, the largest industrial and transportation center on the Sea of ​​Azov,” Shoigu said.

He added: “According to the instructions of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, only the militants in the industrial zone of the Azovstal factory were cordoned off, ignoring repeated proposals to release civilians and lay down their arms.”

He continued: “The Russian armed forces continue their special military operation, and currently units of the Russian army, along with the people’s forces of the Lugansk and Donetsk republics, are expanding control over the territories of the two republics.”
