Back in the 2000s, EA Canada delighted us with NBA Street, a series of street basketball games that made the sporting competition a little more underground with game modes very different from traditional NBA games. However, they have been forgotten for some time now.
But there’s always light at the end of the tunnel, as former Electronic Arts developers have announced The Run: Go Next, which will serve as a spiritual successor with a cell-shaded art style like Borderlands and is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2025.
According to its description in Steam“The Run: Got Next is a fast-paced, full-court, 3-on-3 basketball game that celebrates street basketball culture around the world. Play solo online or team up to rack up wins and become the GOAT.”
Its developers assure that it is an easy game to learn and play because it is fast, fluid and, above all, fun.
“Signature dunks, monster blocks, neat handles, trick shots, logo threes, alley oops and more – we’re putting our own flavor on a game that’s focused on style and substance, while still being grounded in street basketball.”
