‘The RSS chief accepted that we are Indian Muslims; Now we will see Modi’ ‘RSS Chief Accepts We Are Indian Muslims, Not Hindu Muslims; Next We’ll Meet Modi’

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat visited madrasas and mosques and held discussions with some Muslim personalities. This led to great discussions. Najeeb Jung and SY Quraishi spoke to prominent journalist Karan Thapar regarding the discussion with Mohan Bhagwat. Both of them said in the interview that RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat told us that we are Indian Muslims and will no longer be called Hindu Muslims. Both of them said that they will also meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

This is a significant change from what Bhagwat said in September 2021, according to a PTI report, “The word Hindu is synonymous with the rich heritage of our motherland, ancestors and culture. Every Indian is a Hindu.”

Former Chief Election Commissioner Quraishi says he got a clear impression that Bhagwat accepted that Muslims in India cannot grow large and dominate Hindus. Quraishi is also the author of the much acclaimed book ‘The Population Myth’.

In a 36-minute interview with Karan Thapar for The Wire, former vice-chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia and ex-lieutenant governor of Delhi, Jangum Qureshi, revealed that he will write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi later this week seeking permission to visit him. Quraishi said that the same five people who met Bhagwat will go to meet the Prime Minister. Apart from Jung and Qureshi, it included General Samir Uddin Shah, Shahid Siddiqui and Saeed Sherwani. Both said that they are not sure whether they will get Modi’s permission. Both said that they would not raise the allegations of ‘Babar ki Aulaad’, ‘Go to Pakistan’ and ‘Abba Jaan’ by harboring hatred towards Muslims.
