Rabat – Coast Guards of the Royal Navy operating in the Mediterranean and the Atlantic rescued, during the period from December 24, 2022 to January 4, 2023, 270 candidates for irregular emigration of different nationalities, including sub-Saharans, Yemenis and a Syrian, we learned from a military source.
These candidates have attempted perilous crossings aboard makeshift boats, kayaks, Jet-skis and even swimming.
The rescued people received first aid on board the Royal Navy Units, before being brought back safe and sound to the nearest ports of the Kingdom and handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie for the usual administrative procedures, assures- we from the same source.
