The Royal Palace announced the prince’s death on Wednesday, but did not disclose the cause of death.
Prince Constantin was the youngest son of the current reigning Prince of Liechtenstein, Hans Adam II, and was seventh in the line of succession.
He is survived by his wife Princess Marie and three children: 20-year-old Prince Moritz, 18-year-old Princess Georgina and 15-year-old Prince Benedict.
“The Palace of the Dukes regrets to announce that in 2023 December 5 Prince Constantin of Liechtenstein died unexpectedly. Prince Constantin was the youngest son of Prince Hans Adam II. He is survived by his wife, Princess Maria of Liechtenstein, and his children, Prince Moritz, Princess Georgina and Prince Benedikt,” the Ducal Palace said in a statement.
Local media reported that Constantin was also chairman of the supervisory board of the Liechtenstein Group, the world’s largest royal family-owned private banking and wealth management group.
Following Constantino’s death, the state parliament observed a minute’s silence in honor of the royal family, while Apostolic Administrator Benno Elbs paid his respects to the royal family.
