Following a safety inspection, a defect was detected at the level of tray n°2 of the inclined plane of Ronquières, which was therefore taken out of service, said Tuesday the SPW Infrastructures. Ferry No. 1 is still under construction, river traffic is therefore at a standstill at this location.
Extensive investigations are currently underway and the teams are mobilized to try to find a solution as quickly as possible, indicates the SPW.
A notice to skippers has been issued, boatmen are invited to take a diversion.
