Representative Jamil Al-Sayyid wrote on his account on the “X” platform: “The latest news: Cyprus said: Lebanon constitutes a barrier to prevent the arrival of displaced Syrians to Europe, and there is a fear that this barrier will collapse.”
He continued, “For your information, our officials have turned Lebanon into a warehouse for displaced people and a guard dog on the beaches to protect Europe from their migration there, while Europe and others prevent their return to Syria and force them to remain in Lebanon.”
He continued, “Also, for your information, the agreement that I signed as Director of Public Security in 2003 with the United Nations prohibits the residence of any displaced person or refugee in Lebanon, following which he will be returned to his country within a year if the United Nations is unable to settle him in another country.”
Al-Sayyid explained, “But as the former German ambassador told us during a meeting in the House of Representatives: Your officials tell us something in secret regarding the displaced, and they say the opposite in the media.”
He added, “Treason is not just selling yourself to Israel. The greatest betrayal is selling your country’s identity and interest for the sake of a visa or an interest, or to protect your corrupt money in banks abroad, or to please an embassy.”
Al-Sayyid concluded his tweet by saying: “How many of these types of traitors exist in our country.”
