Regarding the wave of crimes that has been recorded in recent months in New York City, carried out mainly by migrants of Venezuelan origin, and about the alleged presence of the dangerous criminal gang El Tren de Aragua in the United States, Chris Swecker, former deputy director of the FBI, considered that it could be a deliberate act by the government of Nicolás Maduro.

“I think Venezuela is deliberately emptying its prisons and sending these people here like Castro did in the 1980s,” said former deputy director of the FBI, referring to the arrival of thousands of Cuban migrants who arrived in Florida in that decade and formed dangerous gangs that They took control of cities like Miami.

Last year, the Venezuelan government led a series of operations in the country’s main prisons to allegedly put an end to criminal gangs that operated from prison facilities, some of which were full of luxuries such as swimming pools, restaurants, bars, zoos. , etc.

The Venezuelan State announced that the prisoners in these prisons would be transferred to other establishments, which were already suffering from serious overcrowding. However, various NGOs operating in the country reported that the estimated numbers of prisoners in the prisons do not coincide with those who were relocated.
