The price of benchmark US crude for August delivery rose to $111.76 a barrel on Tuesday, and Brent crude for August delivery rose to $118 a barrel.
The price of wholesale gasoline for July delivery rose to $3.94 a gallon, while heating oil for July fell to $4.20 a gallon.
The price of natural gas for the month of July also increased to $6.55 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Gold for August delivery fell to $1821.2 an ounce, silver for July delivery fell to $20.81 an ounce, and copper rose in September to $3.78 a pound.
The dollar rose to 136.30 Japanese yen from 135.43 yen, and the euro fell to 1.0523 dollars from 1.0584 dollars.
