The Rings of Power: The Rings of Men Forged with the Blood of Sauron?

The showrunners had announced it to us, the last two episodes of this season 2 of Rings of Power will focus on a battle that we are told will be worthy of that of Helm’s Deep, in the second film. The Lord of the Rings, The two towersby Peter Jackson. That’s ambitious.

While we wait feverishly for Thursday to see if this is indeed the case, now that the orcs led by Adar have indeed arrived in Eregion to kill Sauron (while it is yet another manipulation by the latter that led Adar to lead his troops here), there is in episode 6 a gesture made by the one who calls himself Annatar to deceive Celebrimbor that could have enormous consequences. While season 1 of Rings of Powerwhich will ultimately have 5, mainly introduced us to the different characters by making us play “Who is Sauron?”this second season really focuses on the forging of the Rings in question. After the three for the Elves, made in the last episode of season 1, Halbrand, who was in fact Sauron as Galadariel discovered late, returned to Eregion, to the prestigious blacksmith Celebrimbor. By taking a new form, that of Annatar (“the master of gifts”), he managed to manipulate the craftsman, to develop seven Rings for the Dwarves.

An illusion of Sauron to deceive Celebrimbor?

Unlike the three Elven Rings, which he had not been able to manipulate and which had fulfilled their purpose, those for the Dwarves, which he helped to forge, obscure their judgment, as we see with King Durin. But Sauron cannot stop there, and wants to forge nine Rings for Men. Which Celebrimbor, under his influence, tries to refuse. So the perfidious sorcerer resorts to many stratagems, in particular by providing him with a truncated vision of Eregion. While the battle is being prepared and the Orc army at the gates of the Elven city of Ost-in-Edhil, plunging its inhabitants into chaos, everything appears calm and bright to him. Worse, Annatar confides in him that he has managed to obtain from the Dwarves some Mithril powder, necessary for the forging of the Rings for Men, while we have clearly seen in a previous scene that he is in no way, Durin having sent him packing. So what does the container that Annatar/Sauron gives to Celebrimbor contain?

Just before, while the orc troops make their presence known, with the finesse that we know them for, on the outskirts of the city, Sauron leaves the forge tower and cuts off the palm of his hand. What was thought to be a possible way for him to make his presence known to the faithful in the army of Adar could finally make sense during his exchange with Celebrimbor. What if what Sauron passes off as Mithril powder was none other than his blood? Or the dark matter that composes it, as we discover in the first episode of this season 2 (where he looks downright like Venom)? A subterfuge that would make his imprint super-powerful on the Rings intended for Men. Which makes total sense, the future Nazgûl, his faithful servants in “The Lord of the Rings”, being none other than… the future Men carrying the corrupted Rings!

Was it by directly impregnating them with his own blood that Sauron was able to enslave them so much? This is what we will soon discover.
