A state of happiness felt by the people of Upper Egypt when they learned that “Al-Badri Badar” would be present among them within the activities of the Luxor African Film Festival and to honor him, even if the honor was not for the dramatic work for which he was famous among the people of Upper Egypt, but to honor him because he is one of the heroes of the cinema of the great director Khairy Bishara, specifically. The movie “The Collar and the Bracelet”, which was shown in 1986, is the star Ahmed Abdel Aziz, who confirmed in special statements to “Al Arabiya.net” his happiness with this honor from the audience before the festival, and that he is happy with the warmth with which the people of the Luxor region received him and the extent of their love for the series “Wolves of the Mountain.” Even now, even though he presented it in 1993, it seems as if he is reaping the fruits of the relationship of love and mutual respect he sowed with his audience.
Abdul Aziz considers this series a turning point in the history of everyone who worked on it, pointing out that the director of the series, Magdy Abu Amira, asked him to read the series and choose between the character of Badri and Hatem, explaining that he chose the character of Badri.
The Egyptian artist added, “Some people were not only affected by my role in the series, but there are those who made fateful decisions in their lives based on their viewing of this work and this character, and these words were said to me dozens of times. The writer Muhammad Safaa Amer brilliantly wrote the character of Badri Badar in this series. As if she were actually made of flesh and blood, despite her strangeness. He is a person whose thinking is like a flint stone and then turns to be capable of rational thinking. It was love and art that transferred Badri’s character from a place of hard-heartedness, nervousness, seeking revenge, washing away shame, and extreme matters, to a person who can soften the heart. He knows the difference between things.”
Regarding his honor at the Luxor Festival, he said, “Feelings of happiness and pride dominated me while I was honored at the conclusion of the Luxor African Film Festival in its 13th session,” and he said, “I was very happy to return to Luxor Governorate and regain my memories there, where I was honored for the film The Ring and the Bracelet, directed by Khairy Bishara, who The festival’s edition bore his name this year, and I received a wonderful reception from the people of Luxor. He added, “As I said in my speech at the time of handing over the honor, art is enduring and eternal. I was honored for a film I presented almost 40 years ago, but its impact is still present. The film The Ring and the Bracelet was for me.” A wonderful human and artistic experience led by the great director Khairy Bishara, and I thank him for choosing me to participate in it, and I thank the Luxor Festival for honoring him, as it is one of the 100 most important films in the history of Egyptian cinema.”
Artist Ahmed Abdel Aziz
The artist, Ahmed Abdel Aziz, recalled his memories of the film, which was produced in 1986, 40 years ago, and which was produced in 1986. He said, “The film The Collar and the Bracelet is a special and wonderful artistic and human experience, and every artistic work I presented represents a distinctive experience on the artistic and human level, and this The film was a wonderful experience for me for many reasons, including that it included influential artists with whom I had a good relationship, such as the late artist Ezzat Al-Alayli, and the late artist Abdullah Mahmoud, along with Mohamed Mounir, Sherihan, Firdous Abdel Hamid, and a large number of artists. We filmed the film in Luxor over the course of a month. And a half, where we spent a full stay, which gave us a great opportunity to get to know the country, interact with the citizens and people, and be able to embody the characters and express the Upper Egypt-Luxor environment. This film has important memories for me.” He also made sure to send a message to the director, Khairy Bishara, that he deserves to be honored a long time ago. But I say that perhaps the honor is better late than never. He deserves to have more than one film festival in his name, and I am happy with my work with him.”
Regarding his visit to the Oncology Hospital in Luxor, he indicated that he was happy with that visit and his meeting with sick children and talking to them, to encourage them to continue treatment and raise their morale in achieving a speedy recovery, in addition to taking memorial photos to support sick children morally and that they are the focus of everyone’s attention.
On the other hand, the artist Ahmed Abdel Aziz will appear on the screen during the upcoming Ramadan season, through the events of the series “Midnight Crime,” and he points out, saying, “The work contains human stories and intertwined social relations. A crime occurs in one of the private universities in Egypt late at night.” The events revolve around it, so the writer, Mohamed Al-Ghaity, wove an interesting dramatic story that has a great deal of excitement. He added, “The series is taken from a true story, and we all followed the incident at the time it happened to a large extent on the media. It is a crime that occurs in the middle of the night, and this type of work cannot be done.” To tell many details regarding it, because it will spoil the details of the work, but in short, it is a dramatic work with a lot of excitement and suspense.”
He continued, “During the work, I embody the role of a person called Dr. Najeh who works as a professor at the university, and he discovers that he is involved in many conflicts and problems that occur at the university. The work revolves around the world of private universities and what happens in them, but in an attractive way because this type of suspenseful work finds great resonance with people.” The audience is provided that the dramatic plot is tight and intense to convince the viewer of the events, and I am excited regarding the work because it is written in a wonderful and entertaining way.” Abdel Aziz pointed out, “Detective work requires a great deal of focus and intensity in the work so that the events are well sequenced, and I hope that the work will be admired by the audience.” Because the work is well written.”
