The Riga building management begins to turn off heating throughout the city

In the first days of May, the house management “Rīgas namu pārvaldnieks” (RNP) will begin to turn off the heating in houses connected to the central heating supply, RNP reported.

Most houses will be cut off from heating for two days – May 2 and 3.

RNP ends the heating season with the onset of consistently warm weather, when the air temperature exceeds +12 degrees Celsius for at least three days in a row and does not fall below +7 degrees. It is also important that the forecast shows warm weather for the next three days and that there is no prolonged precipitation.

Smart technologies regulate heating before the end of the heating season when weather conditions change in spring. As an RNP representative explains, every house managed by RNP has an automatic heating unit installed – when the air outside warms up above +12 degrees, the heating automatically turns off, and when the temperature drops, the heating turns on once more.

If residents want a different date for turning off the heating, this must be decided by the apartment owners.
