Dammam: The Rida-Hazard Madrid Soccer Sevens Fest organized by the Dammam Indian Football Association will be held on the 15th of this month to mark the eighth anniversary of Madrid Football Club. Officials of the organizing committee announced in a press conference that the match will be held at La Stadium in Dammam 91.
More than 200 Saudi and local players will compete for various teams in the tournament, which will feature 20 teams under the Dammam Indian Football Association.
The final of the four-week, eight-day tournament will be held on October 7.
Dignitaries from the Saudi Eastern Province will attend the opening and closing ceremonies. Chairman Nasser Alungal, General Convener Zaheer Majdal, Defa Vice President Nasser Velliat, Madrid Club said that the tournament is being organized to promote a timely social message of ‘intoxicate football instead of intoxicants’ in a time when the new generation is moving away from public places and public playgrounds and towards intoxicants and drug use and marketing.
