A young woman from the village of Amaliada, was a victim of strangers who blackmailed her with a video depicting her naked, which they eventually posted on the popular social networking platform TikTok.
The girl received the first approach through messages on social media on July 7, where the perpetrators informed her that they had the video in question and demanded 100 euros not to post it on Tik Tok.
The girl, fearing the consequences of this act, succumbed to the blackmail and deposited the amount into the bank account they sent her, asking to delete the video
The perpetrators, despite taking the money, came back once more asking for a sum of money to not proceed with their threat.
The girl refused and late at night the perpetrators posted the video on Tik Tok, telling her the address where it was posted, to confirm that they carried out their threat.
The case is being investigated by the local authorities, but the Prosecution of Electronic Crime has also been quickly informed regarding its own actions concerning, on the one hand, the protection of the victim from the illegal material, as well as the identification of the perpetrators through their electronic traces.
