The revamped Razer Kishi V2 is now available for iPhone

The Razer Kishi V2 for iPhone took longer than necessary to arrive but is now available for the Cupertino operating system. After launching the namesake for Android in July, now comes the iOS version for the not inconsiderable figure of €120. It’s the brand’s second generation of Nintendo Switch-like controls for iOS devices that make mobile gaming a true console experience.

Razer Kishi V2 improving the original version

If you’re considering upgrading to the original Razer Kishi, which Javier Gualix reviewed at the time, or the iOS controller, there are some advantages. Two new multi-function buttons that can be reassigned in the Nexus app (Razer’s own gaming hub) if you like to play more complex games. And there’s a dedicated button that’ll take you straight to the Nexus app, although how well it can handle iOS integration remains to be seen given that Apple doesn’t allow native app streaming.

Phone and connection compatibility aside, the design of the Kishi V2 for Android and iOS is nearly identical. This indicates that the iOS version of the Kishi V2 shares the same criticisms, including annoying buttons and the lack of a 3.5mm audio jack for those who prefer direct headphone connectivity. All button and control functions are the same on iOS and Android models, and both measure 3.6 x 7.1 x 1.3 inches and weigh 4.3 ounces.

Speaking of buttons, these were modeled following the tactile micro-switch controls found on another Razer product, the Wolverine V2 console controller. The only drawback is that in this device we will not have as many displacements as in this order.

Razer learns from its competition

It seems that Razer took inspiration from its competitors when designing the second generation of Kishi mobile controllers, although this matters less in the case of the Kishi V2 for Android, since Backbone’s offering is designed for users of iOS. Now that consumers can choose between the two directly competing products, positive feedback on the Backbone One’s Lightning charging and 3.5mm audio passthrough, software integration, and overall in-hand comfort might win over even loyal fans of the hardware. Razer.

The Razer Kishi V2 revamp is now available for iPhone

The Kishi V2 for iPhone requires iOS 15.4 or later and is compatible with models from the iPhone SE (1st and 2nd generation) to the iPhone 13. Lightning series, but we won’t know for sure if Kishi V2 for iOS will support it. supported until it’s officially released.
