The conviction of the eighteen members of the Reuzegom circle in the case of the fatal baptism of the young student Sanda Dia is final. The civil parties, the public prosecutor and the convicts themselves decided not to seize the Court of Cassation to contest the judgment of the Antwerp Court of Appeal, we learned from the instance.
Sanda Dia, a 20-year-old student from KU Leuven, died during his baptism in 2018 within the Reuzegom circle. In this case, 18 defendants were sentenced two weeks ago by the Antwerp Court of Appeal to work of interest (from 200 to 300 hours) and a fine of 400 euros.
