DVDs stopped being used by most people many years ago. Among the main reasons for this are limited storage space and the growth of streaming, but this problem appears to have been solved by scientists at the Shanghai University of Science and Technology, who created a disk with a capacity of up to 200 terabytes.
The “super DVD” is an optical disc obtained from a 3D planar recording architecture with a highly transparent and uniform photoresist film. This film is dyed with an aggregation-induced emission dye to be stimulated by femtosecond lasers.
This technology allows you to create up to 100 layers for recordings on each side of the disc, which allows you to store up to 200 terabytes on one drive.
