The Return of Abou Jahjah: Defender of Muslims and Political Agitator | Brussels Elections and March 30 Movement

Abou Jahjah (52 years old) ran for the one.brussels list in 2019 but was not elected.

The March 30 Movement refers to the March 30, 1976 demonstrations of Palestinian demands for land rights, during which six demonstrators were shot dead by the Israeli army. Above all, he intends to plead for recognition at the International Criminal Court in The Hague and to support Belgians in legal proceedings, for example if they have lost family in Gaza.

“We will participate in the elections in Brussels in June next year. If elected, we will try, through a motion, to have the genocide officially recognized,” explained Abou Jahjah.

He says he does not know if he himself will appear on the list.

It is unlikely that he will be able to count on MP Fouad Ahidar, who announced his departure from Vooruit on Sunday. Questioned on Monday by the multimedia platform Bruzz, he denied any contact with the activist. His last conversation with him was several months ago, by telephone.

Mr. Ahidar has made no secret of the fact that he intends to take part in the elections in Brussels next June, in one form or another.
