The Českolip team did not get the necessary result boost, they performed on the field of the third league participant, which is actually traditional for them in recent weeks. “It’s still the same, the performance is interesting, the second half is better than the first. They crush us with absolutely stupid goals. It can be said that they are almost all their own. Just by the nonsense we create. Three games are bothering us, we are getting cheap goals. We can’t say, good guys, lime – lime. In the second half, we had several good chances, but without success,” Josef Csaplár, Arsenal’s coach, evaluated the match.
The home team’s first goal came in the 8th minute after an inaccurate play by the Česká Lipsk goalkeeper Krále, who smeared the home team’s Weber in front of the goal, who passed to Vaňek, who punished Krále’s mistake – 1:0. After half an hour of play, it was goalkeeper Král who had to show his skills when he eliminated a dangerous shot by Slanina. Five minutes before the end of the first half, Ješeta from Českolip had a weak moment when he failed to look after Weber, he went past him and the home team took a two-goal lead – 2:0.
At the beginning of the second half, Šimon could have reduced the score, but he only sent his header from the center of Kopřiva into the hands of the home goalkeeper Štorec. The third goal in the Českolips net came after a free kick by Rotta, who sent the balloon to Vaňka’s head and he comfortably opened the visiting net – 3:0.
The visitors got their only success in the 69th minute. The main referee awarded a penalty to the home player in his own penalty area, which was successfully converted by Šimon – 3:1. At the end of the match, the home side already managed to advance to the next round of the MOL CUP.
“A tough match against a very good opponent. The important thing was that we scored an early goal. We had to concentrate the whole match because the opponent played a lot in front. It’s a very valuable victory because Arsenal worked very well, so we’re happy to progress,” said home coach Michal Zach.
