The president of the National Association of Private Educational Institutes (ANDIEP) in Carabobo, José Manuel Bolívar, responded to the governor of the entity, Rafael Lacava, who asked for “common sense” in the increase in school enrollment.

The regional authority warned of “disproportionate increases” in private institutions.
In light of this, Bolívar agreed on the importance of prudence and a detailed analysis of the environment that should guide the decisions of managers.
“The governor has always expressed respect and appreciation for private education in the state. The educational authorities of Carabobo have established positive relationships and professional collaboration and have always maintained positions focused on children and their well-being. They have built bridges to work well,” he said.

“This amount is equivalent to 6%-7% of a school’s annual budget. That is why, when adding the 12% of inflation and the 6% generated by this new tax burden,” he said.

He clarified that this calculation does not include other binding factors such as improvements in the physical plant and salary increases for its workers.
“70% of private educational institutions’ expenses are payroll expenses. Teachers must be kept motivated, they must be offered incentives and year following year you must show that they are improving and that their work life and remuneration are getting better,” he stressed.
