Tuesday’s trade that sent defensive lineman Ja’Gared Davis from the Hamilton Tiger-Cats to the Calgary Stampeders in exchange for a sixth-round pick has been rescinded.
Davis will return to the Tiger-Cats and the Stampeders will retain their sixth-round pick in the 2024 CFL Draft.
As TSN’s Salim Valji reported earlier Thursday, Davis has been sidelined from Stampeders practice because he has yet to pass his medical with the team.
The CFL statement said the trade was conditional on Davis passing a physical exam with the Stampeders.
Danny Austin of the Calgary Sun reported that the trade was called off because Davis failed his medical.
Davis appeared in five games for the Tiger-Cats this season.
He had seven tackles, 49 sacks and 10 forced fumbles during his seven-year CFL career.
