The 68th Eurovision Song Contest starts on May 7. In the first semi-final we will hear, among others: the Polish representative, Luna and her song “Tower”, as well as candidates from Ukraine – Alyona Alyona and Jerry Heil (song “Teresa & Maria”).
The representative of Ukraine shocks
Shortly before the start, a storm broke out on the network. It was regarding the outfit of one of the Ukrainian singers. Some time ago, 28-year-old Jerry Heil added a recording on Tik-Tok of her performing a song that she will also sing in Malmö.
However, what caught the attention of Polish fans of the competition was her outfit. The artist is wearing a sweatshirt with the words Banderaciaga on it.
The clothing manufacturer of this brand argues that “Bandera and Balanciaga are united by the freedom of the nation, freedom of the body, freedom of movement, freedom of speech.” Although for Ukrainians Stepan Bandera is considered a hero, for Poles it is quite the opposite.
As we read: “Bandera was the leader of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (…) the faction led by Bandera is responsible for the genocides organized in 1943-1945 once morest the Polish civilian population in Volhynia and Eastern Galicia.”
Under the mentioned video, the representative of Ukraine at Eurovision, among many outraged people, also left her comment Anna Maria Żukowska.
“And I will not vote for Ukraine this time. If Ukraine in its historical policy focuses on promoting Bandera, it will discourage Europe, which has a clear opinion regarding Nazi collaborators (yes, yes, Świętokrzyska Brigade). I say no to the nationalists! ” – we read in Żukowska’s entry.
