In this regard, he noted that this border post is the only one linking the West Bank and Jordan, which will allow Palestinians to export their products and visit their relatives in Jordan and vice versa.
The decision to open this border post permanently will have repercussions on the daily life of the Palestinians, argued the expert.
According to Mr. El Ajlaoui, this decision also enshrines Morocco’s major role in supporting peace and security in the Middle East region and confirms that the Kingdom is working, far from mere slogans, to defend the Palestinian cause.
In this regard, he recalled the leading role played by the Bayt Mal Al Quds Acharif Agency for the preservation of the identity of the holy city.
The academic also highlighted the message sent in December 2020 by the King to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in which the Sovereign had stressed that Morocco always places the Palestinian cause on the same level as the question of the Moroccan Sahara and that the Kingdom will continue its constructive engagement in favor of the establishment of a just and lasting peace in the Middle East region.
