People come to the employment service not out of desperation, but for new opportunities. Job seekers have different requests, and so that consultants can be as useful as possible for them, they hold professional skills competitions. Timur Makarovsky became the “Best Specialist of the Employment Service”. He has been working in the personnel center of the Velsky District for 14 years. And now he will have to show himself at the federal stage of the competition.
Timur Makarovsky, winner of the regional competition of professional skills in the field of employment:
“This feeling of being useful to people, supporting them, gives a very big boost of energy, which constantly motivates you to go every day with a smile.”
The awarding of winners and prize winners was timed to coincide with the Service’s birthday. The institution plays a major role in the region’s economy. Every year, about 25 thousand people apply here and receive timely assistance.
Pavel Shevelev, Deputy Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Development:
“A very high percentage of employment. A large number of students who receive a new profession and specialty, this is the closure of vacancies for our employers who are experiencing a need, especially in recent years, the Employment Service is actively closing the existing personnel shortage.”
The Service is currently undergoing a comprehensive modernization. Thanks to the “Employment Assistance” project, a new category of job seekers has emerged this year. Now consultants also help those who are employed but are always ready for changes in life. New programs also help find better working conditions or a qualified worker.
Olga Vokhtomina, First Deputy Director of the Arkhangelsk Regional Employment Center:
“Combine all the needs of both citizens and employers with optimal shortcuts to bring everyone to their goal, either to find a job, or to find employees, or to open their own business, so that everyone finds their occupation.”
The Regional Employment Service is also changing externally. This year, more than 20 branches are being renovated. The corridor-cabinet layout is becoming a thing of the past. Open spaces will allow employees to work more effectively in a team.
