The reform of Walloon automobile taxation, which has already caused a lot of ink to flow since its announcement at the beginning of the week, “will be refined over the stages“Who are still waiting for the project, assured the Walloon Minister of Mobility, Philippe Henry (Ecolo), Wednesday, in plenary session of the Walloon parliament.
“The government has agreed on the main principles of this reform and on fairly specific procedures. We are now going to have a fairly broad phase of consultation before a gradual implementation, which should be completed in 2026, so that everyone can adapt and that no one is trapped.explained the minister while the group leader of the Committed, François Desquesnes, asked him ironically if the text was indeed the subject of an agreement within the executive “or if it was a proposal from Philippe Henry”.
“If aberrations are observed, they will be corrected. But what counts today are not the amounts to the nearest euro; it is understanding the reform and the principles implemented. The different stages awaiting the text will allow everything to be refined and budget calculations to be made“, said Philippe Henry once more. “With this text which aims to redirect automobile use, we are in the process of translating a commitment”he finally recalled.
