The Red Lions win in style against Spain

Michel Van den Heuvel made no change in his core compared to yesterday’s match. Despite the absences of the players involved in the POs in the Netherlands and the injuries, the core of the Red Lions looks great while leaving the opportunity for young people like Van Oost, Van Dessel, Onana or Hainaut to express themselves.

After less than three minutes, Gougnard tore away to overflow on the right. He passed the ball to De Kerpel who put away for Cosyns who shot in time towards the goal. Rafi cleared the ball from the hoof. After 7 minutes of play, Belgium opened the scoring. De Sloover sent a flat of his 50 towards Ghislain. The young Watducks striker dribbled across the backline to cross back towards Boon who catapulted the ball into Rafi’s net. The ball was moving well between the players. In the 10th, Spain inherited the first pc of the game. Miralles sent a shell but it was too central, Van Doren diverted the sending of the glove. A new beautiful movement orchestrated by Belgium, involving Wegnez, Ghislain and Onana allowed the latter to try his luck. It lacked the frame but got a pc for a foot. On the pc, Nico De Kerpel’s first shot was pushed back. The ball returned to the Lierrois and he passed it around. Onana, with a backhand shot, doubled the bet on this phase.
