As usual, the Devils are seeded for these qualifications.
This Sunday, October 9 at 12 p.m., in Frankfurt, the draw for the 2024 European Championship qualifiers will take place. Despite their elimination from the Nations League, the Red Devils have recorded sufficient results to place themselves in the pot of heads of series, along with the Netherlands, Spain, Italy and even Portugal. Indeed, it is indeed this Nations League which made it possible to determine the different hats, which explains the presence of the Italian selection in the company of the leaders despite their non-participation in the next World Cup. In the same vein, France and England, who disappointed during this League of Nations, find themselves in pot 2.
Following this draw, seven groups of five countries and three groups of six countries will be formed. The twenty teams that finish in the first two places in their group will qualify directly for Euro 2024, which will take place in Germany in the summer of 2024.
Spain, the Netherlands, Croatia and Italy, who will play in the Final 4 of the League of Nations, will be returned to a group of five teams so as not to further overload an already well-stocked calendar. Germany, the host country of the competition, must not play in these qualifiers, which will take place between May and November 2023. Russia is banned, bringing the number of teams competing in these qualifiers to 53.
