The recovery operation began around 7:30 a.m. “Two firefighters are accompanying two people from the SPAA. We drive them on the waters with our boats. These employees retrieve geese when possible. By 2:30 p.m., some 150 geese had been recovered. Work was to continue until 4 p.m. before dark.
