Abraham Oseguera Cervantes, nicknamed “Don Rodo” and 70 years old, He had been captured in the early hours of April 21 by soldiers and members of the National Guard.
“He was released under the terms ordered by the judge.”said the Secretary of Security, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, at the presidential press conference.
This man is the brother of “El Mencho”, leader of the CJNG and one of the most wanted men in Mexico.
At the time of his capture, Abraham Oseguera was accused of being “one of the main coordinators of the cartel’s logistical and financial operations, dedicated to money laundering and in charge of drug trafficking and sale.”
According to the authorities, the man, when he was arrested, was carrying a long gun and drugs, but this and other evidence was rejected by the judgewho ordered his release early last Sunday.

Rodríguez pointed out that this is “a matter of state” and that is why the government chose to keep him in prison for almost 48 more hours in which it brought together possible elements of other crimes.

“The judge did not take into account the evidence provided by the Prosecutor’s Office, he did not evaluate it adequately,” Rodríguez lamented when accusing that the defense presented probably edited videos to obtain Oseguera’s release.
