The reasons for the presence of salmonella in Kinder products are known according to Ferrero: “It was detected on December 15”

It specifies that the materials and the finished products had been blocked and had not been delivered. The Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (Afsca) on Monday recalled several Ferrero brand chocolate products due to the presence of salmonella bacteria. The products in question were manufactured in the Ferrero factory in Arlon. According to the latest official report, 105 cases of salmonellosis have been linked to these products in the European Union and the United Kingdom.

Ferrero says the matter is being investigated in conjunction with food safety authorities. The company adds that it has removed the filter and “significantly increased” the level of controls on semi-finished and finished products.

The Afsca clarified in a reaction that it was not involved in the research mentioned by Ferrero. Her own “in-depth analyses” are underway and it is still too early to draw conclusions, she said.
