Kaohsiung blackout once more! Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Qimai just said he was dissatisfied with Taipower’s frequent power outages and demanded that the power grid be improved as soon as possible. Unexpectedly, at 10:21 this morning, there was a power outage in 887 households in the large community. After Taipower dispatched personnel to investigate and repair it, it was found that the bird’s nest was the fault. After emergency repairs, the power was restored at 11:09. Coincidentally, in Fengshan District, a small loop was tripped due to thunderstorms. A total of 1,516 households were without power, and power was restored within 27 minutes.
In response to the power outage in the Dashe area, Taipower Kaohsiung District Office pointed out that at 10:20 today, the feeder tripped due to a high-voltage line failure at the Nanzi Substation, causing a total of 887 households to lose power in the areas of Minquan Road and Zhongzheng Road in the Da Community of Kaohsiung City. The backstage telegrapher dispatched emergency repairs, and 507 households were called back at 10:21, and all of them were restored at 11:09.
It is understood that Taipower dispatched staff to investigate and found that the culprit of this power outage was the “bird’s nest”, mainly because the branches fell and touched the equipment when the birds built their nests.
In addition, there was also a power outage in Fengshan this morning. Taipower’s Fengshan District Sales Office pointed out that at 10:05 today, the small loop jumped out due to a faulty lightning arrester caused by a thunderstorm, causing a total of 1,516 households to lose power in the area of Zhongxing Street and Yuchang Street in Fengshan District. Officers rushed to the scene for repairs, and the call was returned at 10:32.
