Here it is official, following a few weeks of teasing which allowed us to glimpse one of its key features: fast charging. The Realme GT Neo 5 has just been made official in China, with its famous 240 W charge, the fastest on the market to date.
The smartphone, whose design retains the very “Formula 1” style of the GT Neo 3, also adopts a look inspired by gaming computers, as evidenced by a luminous border on the back of the device, adapting to applications or notifications. It therefore logically relies on power, starting with that of its charge: its 240 W allow it, according to the brand, to fill up its 4600 mAh accumulator in 9 minutes, and to reach 50% in 4 minutes. A 6580 mm² steam chamber is associated with it in particular to limit heating. It also benefits from the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, not quite the latest from Qualcomm, which is here in charge to satisfy gamers. The SoC is flanked by 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB to 1 TB of storage.
These elements sit behind a 6.74-inch AMOLED screen, displaying Full HD at a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz, once more to satisfy players. Realme reports an interesting peak brightness of 1400 nits when using the GT Neo 5 outdoors. For the rest, the smartphone is equipped with a triple rear photo block, with a main sensor of 50 megapixels (lMX890 from Sony) accompanied by a wide-angle (f / 1.88), an 8 Mpx sensor with an ultra wide-angle (f / 2.2) and a last 2 Mpx module dedicated to macro. The smartphone, finally, runs on Android 13 accompanied by the Realme UI 4.0 interface.
240 W or 150 W, your choice
The Realme GT Neo 5 will be released in China from February 15, at a price of 3199 yuan, or approximately €437 excluding taxes and miscellaneous fees (16 / 256 GB model), or 3499 yuan (approximately €479 excluding tax). It should be noted that these prices only concern the version of the smartphone compatible with 240 W charging. A model that supports a 150 W power supply, with a battery increased to 5000 mAh, is available in 8 / 256 GB (2599 yuan, or approximately €256 excl. VAT), 12 / 512 GB (2,799 yuan, or €383 excl. VAT) and 16 / 256 GB (2,999 yuan, or €410 excl. VAT). Although it is still unknown which version of the Realme GT Neo 5 will be selected, the brand has confirmed the international launch of its smartphone. No doubt we will learn more at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, at the end of this month of February.
