The LGBTQIA+ community indeed brings together a large set of possible identities whose common point is that they do not correspond to the “classic” pattern of majority sexuality where a man, born a man, has a relationship with a woman, born a woman.
But homosexuals, lesbians, asexuals, gender fluids, intersex people, etc. all have their specificities, their challenges and their struggles. Self-definition takes many people out of isolation, and they can finally feel understood, legitimate and accepted in a community.
