Against the impressive backdrop of St. Mary’s Cathedral – the largest church in Austria – the quieter Advent market delights with handicrafts, spiritual impulses, culinary delights and a varied supporting program for the whole family. The offer in the around 30 market huts on Cathedral Square promises variety with changing exhibitors, so it pays to stop by several times as there is always something new to discover. The Soulspace Hut of the Catholic Church is celebrating its premiere this year, where books about Christmas invite you to browse and relax. Advent calendars with appealing content are also available there.
Every Saturday and Sunday (2 p.m. to 5 p.m.) a program for children is offered in the Carla premises (Baumbachstraße 3) in cooperation with the Catholic Youth Group. The little visitors can look forward to creative and craft stations, a puzzle rally and reading hours, and Santa Claus will stop by on December 6th.
On Advent Sundays, families have the opportunity to discover St. Mary’s Cathedral with all their senses on exciting children’s cathedral tours. The small flock of wooden animals in the open area also wants to be discovered and climbed.
There is also music to get you in the mood for Christmas; a program highlight is Advent singing on the first Sunday of Advent, which everyone above Austria takes part in. Choirs and choral singers are invited.
