The questions of the case for the assassination attempt on Cristina Kirchner | Who was the leader of the group, how was it financed, what was the plan and what went wrong

The current hypothesis of the investigation is that Gabriel Carrizo was the leader of the group that tried to kill the vice president and, at least for now, it is a group of haters, marginals, anti-Peronists, neo-Nazis, anti-Semites, all mixed with pornography, bestiality and prostitution. That in no way removes the fact that, possibly through Carrizo, someone has influenced and even financed them. That is the key to a case that is still far from being clarified. For now, the logic is that this week Judge María Eugenia Capuchetti is going to prosecute the last two detainees for attempted aggravated homicide: Agustina Díaz and Carrizo, who were denied release on Thursday and this Saturday by the magistrate. Even so, the assassination attempt still poses numerous unknowns.

1.- Where did the group get money from?

-Serious doubts arise. It is clear that they were not selling snowflakes, because even the hijacked machine seems precarious. The flake thing was a screen to do the precarious preliminary intelligence that they did. Other street vendors, who saw them on the street, think that they were not selling anything and that they were indeed part of something political. One source of income might be the sale of erotic images. In his statement this Friday, Carrizo told something striking. That Sabag and Brenda went to the address of Montes de Oca 1029, in Barracas, where Carrizo and another member of the Sergio Orozco group lived. They went to a party. The next day Sabag and Brenda returned to the same address so that she might have sexual relations with Orozco in exchange for 10,000 pesos. While that was happening, Sabag and Carrizo stayed talking. That is, the income insufficient they came from different sources like that. However, That doesn’t explain how they had the plan to rent an apartment in Recoleta, opposite Cristina’s, to shoot the vice president from there. For such an operation, 500,000 pesos are needed for advances, deposits and real estate. But in the chats they talk on August 23 that they are going to put the sign. In the investigation of him, Carrizo said that in a good month he might earn regarding 70,000 pesos with the flakes and Sabag received 60,000 pesos from an apartment rent that his mother left him. Witnesses said that the Brazilian-born did nothing, he spent much of the day in his room watching images of sexual acts between animals. And on his cell phone, child pornography was also found. In short, the hypothesis that money came from somewhere does not seem to be ruled out at all.

2.- What was the plan really like?

In his statement on Friday, Carrizo has a message on September 1, following the attack, in which he says “This was planned for a week, he did everything wrong (Sabag). He’s a jerk.” The owner of the flake-making device was initially frightened because he thought that Sabag had used a 22-caliber pistol that Carrizo supplied, that is, they would attack Cristina with two weapons: the 32 that Sabag used and that, according to the judge, Brenda bought in April , and the 22 that, according to the messages, Carrizo and Brenda discarded that same night near Barracas. Maybe the mechanics were the same, approach the vice president and shoot her from two different angles. From the messages found on the cell phones, they considered the two variants: that with the stampede produced by the shots, the shooters might flee, or that they be lynched. All the time they talk regarding San Martín and that they are going to become heroes for killing Cristina.

3.- What went wrong?

In the prosecution of Fernando Sabag and Brenda Uliarte, the judge does not have a definitive hypothesis. The proficiency of the weapon and the projectiles indicate that they were in a position to kill. She only specifies that the slider had a malfunction. According to Carrizo “my friend (Sabag) was one second away from becoming a national hero. He was very close, he missed the weapon, I don’t understand he was doing well”. One possibility -outlined by the criminalist Raúl Torre- is that, stuck in the crowd, Sabag got nervous and mishandled the slide, the bullet did not enter the chamber and the shot did not come out. The other possibility is that Brenda took the Bersa in the white bag to Juncal and Uruguay, gave it to Sabag, who thought the bullet was already in the chamber, did not do the check that any experienced person does, and fired the gun. without the projectile in the chamber. There was no shot. In any case, CFK miraculously saved his life. In the messages between Brenda and Agustina Díaz, who seem to be a couple and therefore are very confident with each other, Agustina rebukes Brenda “why did you send that moron?”

4.- Are the members of the group arrested or missing?

The impression is that at least one is missing. In the images of August 28, a subject with a hat and a mask spoke, on the corner of Juncal and Uruguay, with Brenda and Sabag, both standing in the background, once morest a wall. That person is not identified. At first he looked like Carrizo, but in his statement on Friday he claims to have been in Tigre. He will have to be seen. Then there are other images that attract attention and suggest the presence of other possible attackers, all with masks and caps. Agustina Díaz will surely be prosecuted this week for the same charges, attempted aggravated homicide by premeditation, treachery, use of weapons and the participation of two or more people. And it will be seen if Capuchetti is given the time to sign the prosecution of Carrizo, for the same charges.

5.- What is missing?

According to investigators, the upper circle of the plot, that is someone who influenced and financed the group. Is it certain that it exists or might it be a group of haters and neo-Nazis like they exist in other countries? The truth is that it cannot be ruled out. But today the idea prevails that someone was above. On the one hand, from the discourse: violent, in tune with the Federal Revolution. The idea of killing Cristina is present all the time. But these same protagonists also have postings of speeches by Javier Milei and the toughest sector of the PRO. In other words, that someone thought “these guys are good for us, let’s give them some mangoes” is a working hypothesis in the file. From the political point of view, it is evident that there is an influence of the hateful message of the opposition and the media that hate Peronism. But that is not enough in a criminal case: a concrete, real link is sought. Investigators say they’re working on a lead because the money issue doesn’t settle for them. Someone financed them, they conclude.
