The Queen of Jordan: Gaza is a microcosm of the new global chaos

Amman – Queen Rania, wife of Jordanian King Abdullah II, confirmed yesterday, Sunday, that Gaza is an example of a microcosm of the new global chaos, the collapse of international standards and the return of “survival of the fittest.”

This came during an interview with American journalist Margaret Brennan on the “Face the Nation” program on CBS, according to a statement, a copy of which Anatolia received.

Queen Rania considered that “the world’s failure to stop Israeli atrocities in Gaza sets a very dangerous precedent for the rest of the world.”

She added, “It is time for the international community, including the United States, to use its political influence to force Israel to end the war and allow aid to enter.”

Queen Rania considered that “Israel’s actions are not only a betrayal of the people of Gaza, but are in fact a betrayal of the guarantees that aim to preserve the safety of us all.”

She pointed out that “there is a feeling of selective application of humanitarian law and a feeling of injustice, a feeling that our lives do not have the same value.”

She added, “This is something that I think definitely causes a great loss of credibility for the United States, and it also causes us to rethink our view of the global system.”

Queen Rania stated, “When Israel’s allies fail to hold it responsible for its actions, a culture of impunity is created.” This has been the situation for decades, as Israel feels that they are the exception to every international law and standard.”

She continued, “Either you are part of the international community and abide by the rules, or you are a pariah state.”

Queen Rania stressed that “Gaza is now an example of a microcosm of the new global chaos (…) and the collapse of international standards and the return of survival of the fittest.”

She added, “I think this is very dangerous, not only for our region but for the entire world.”

Regarding the humanitarian conditions in Gaza, she said: “Entire cities have turned into barren lands, happy growing children have become mere bones and skin, 2 million and 300 thousand people in a confined area live hell every day.”

Queen Rania called on the international community to “prevent Israel from a large-scale invasion of Rafah.”

She described this as “the end of the line for the people of Gaza, who have been systematically pushed further and further south since the beginning of the war.”

She pointed out that the war on Gaza “may be one of the largest mobilization events that we have witnessed in modern history, because it has alienated many people and made them feel that there is no justice in this world.”

“This war does not make Israel or the world a safer place,” she said.

Since the beginning of the Israeli war on Gaza, Jordan has always warned once morest attempts to displace Palestinians, stressing through Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh that “any attempts or creation of conditions to displace Palestinians from Gaza or the West Bank are a red line, and will be considered tantamount to a declaration of war.”
