The Death Rewind, or how to undo the death of a character
This is during an interview with the media SegmentNext that Will Byles, the game’s director, recently explained how this new mechanic works. Thus, just like in Until Dawn, the different protagonists that you will embody can die precipitously at various points in the adventure. However, the Death Rewind will allow players, once the plot is completed, to undo a certain number of deaths of their characters.
The Death Rewind is a feature that is unlocked following going through the story or by purchasing the Deluxe version of the game. You have three lives allowing you to avoid the death of a character at the cost of using one of the lives. You will then be taken back to where you made that critical choice leading to the death of the character so that you can make a different decision.
Although the addition of such a feature may seem surprising, especially for such a title, Byles defends himself by stating that the plot will require regarding ten hours of play to be completed, and that the game has high potential. replayability with no less than 186 different endings depending on the branches and decisions that the players will make.
Thus, the fact of being able to cancel the death of certain characters will in no way affect the durability of the work, knowing that, in addition, this functionality is absolutely not mandatory. During this same interview, the director of the game also tells us that the scenario will feature nine teenagers who can each die in a dozen different ways.
