The Public Prosecutor announces the arrest of 21 expatriates and 3 Libyans on charges of fuel smuggling in the south

The Public Prosecutor’s Office announced the seizure of 21 expatriate foreign workers and 3 Libyans in possession of 310,000 liters of fuel prepared for smuggling in the southern region, according to the office.

This came during a security campaign carried out by the Law Enforcement Department and the 10th Infantry Battalion inside the southern region, in implementation of the Public Prosecution’s orders to monitor and track those involved in fuel smuggling activity, according to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

And the Public Prosecution stated that 308 fuel distribution stations were monitored in the municipalities of Sabha, Brak Al-Shati, Umm Al-Aranib and Al-Qatroun, which were supplied with fuel despite the lack of legality to exercise the activity.

The Attorney General directed the start of procedures to verify the legality of the procedures for carrying out activity in all fuel marketing stations. Initiating a criminal case once morest the perpetrators of the crime of illegal gain.
