The Public Prosecution announced the details of the investigations into the death of Ayman Hadhoud.
The Public Prosecution said in a statement, on Tuesday, that it had received a report on the sixth of last February from a property guard in the Zamalek neighborhood that Ayman Hadhoud entered the property he was guarding, and tried to open one of the apartments in it, and delirium – at the time – with incomprehensible words, so he caught him and the police attended and arrested on him.
The Public Prosecution launched investigations when Hodhoud was arrested and tried to interrogate him regarding the accusation of attempted theft, but it was not possible to interrogate him for repeating incomprehensible words, and questioned his mental health. He was deposited by the Public Prosecution at the Forensic Psychiatry Department of the National Council for Mental Health in Cairo at the Abbasiya Mental Health Hospital; To prepare a mental medical report on his condition, and the extent of his responsibility for his actions at the time of the incident.
The Public Prosecution heard the testimony of the property guard, the author, and testified that he had seized the accused following he hurriedly went to the property. He threw himself on the ground and started shouting incomprehensible words, so he informed the police, who immediately came and arrested him.
The guard of the adjacent property corroborated the story of the guard of the property, who was intended by “Hudhood” in the investigations.
On the fifth of last March, the Public Prosecution was notified of the death of the accused in the hospital where he was deposited, due to a sharp drop in blood circulation and cardiac arrest. His death, and police investigations also confirmed that there was no criminal suspicion in his death.
At that time, the Public Prosecution took the procedures of publishing and photographing the deceased to reach their families to send them to the body for burial. Two of his brothers, Adel and Abu Bakr, attended and testified in the investigations that they did not suspect the death of their brother criminally, and stated that the same turbulent behavior of the deceased had previously occurred twice; The first was two months ago when he was found on the main road in the Salam area, doing turbulent actions and talking to himself, so they moved to him and handed him over from the people who guarded him at the time, and the second when he was on the floor in front of the guest rooms of a hotel, so they moved to him and escorted him, and they explained that they had not been able to put their brother in the hospital previously to receive necessary treatment; to repeat his escape.
In order to ascertain the cause of the death of the accused, the Public Prosecution listened to the statements of the director of the forensic psychiatric unit, a doctor, and a nurse at the government hospital in which the accused was hospitalized. He was infected with the Corona virus, so medical measures were taken with him in such a case, and then he died during his transfer to a government hospital for treatment.
Accordingly, the Public Prosecution assigned the Forensic Medicine Department to conduct an autopsy on the body of the accused in order to determine the cause and manner of his death, and whether or not the death was a criminal suspicion, and to examine visceral samples from it to indicate the extent to which they contain traces of narcotic or toxic substances that may cause his death.
Following the last decision, the Public Prosecution heard the statements of two members of the tripartite committee formed according to the Public Prosecution’s decision to prepare a report examining his psychological and mental state. He was speaking incomprehensible words interspersed with his denial that he had committed the attempted theft under investigation, and that he had entered the property in which he was arrested in search of the woman whose name he was calling, according to the statement of the property guard.
The committee added that the deterioration of his psychological condition affected the degree of consciousness, and it might end in death, and they submitted a detailed report on his condition in papers.
The Public Prosecution office is completing the investigation procedures into the incident, and summoned the brother of the accused, Omar Hadhoud; To hear his testimony, the Monitoring Unit of Al-Bayan Department monitored multiple statements attributed to him on social media, in which he claims the existence of a criminal suspicion, but he did not comply with its decision to attend.
On the occasion of the investigations into that incident, the Public Prosecution reiterates that it conducts its investigations with full transparency and credibility and announces – when appropriate – the results of those investigations in a way that does not affect their safety. The hidden evil people who maliciously exploit the occurrence of some facts in our society to cause division and spread strife throughout our beloved homeland, which is always protected from all evil and evil.
