Eid al-Fitr, the entire family, close relatives and friends of the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Megawati Soekarno Putri were present at her residence. Several ministerial figures such as Sri Mulyani, Basuki Hadimuljono, Retno Marsudi and Budi Gunadi Sadikin were present on the first day of Eid.
However, the public is still wondering why the close relative of the PDIP chairman, namely President Joko Widodo, did not appear to be present at the Eid moment. PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto responded that this year Megawati did not hold a house or open house. The parties invited, said Hasto, were only Megawati’s close relatives.
“You can see it there. There are no open houses. “So it was attended by my mother’s friends who came, friends who showed a commitment to Indonesia, not (showing commitment) to the family,” quipped Hasto.
As of Thursday (11/4), Megawati’s residence had no signs of being attended by her old relative, namely Joko Widodo.
On another occasion, President Jokowi had previously given a signal that he would welcome all former Indonesian presidents to attend the state palace. However, PDIP DPP Chairman Ahmad Basarah read the signal that Megawati would not attend the event.
“So far, what I have noted is that throughout Mrs. Mega’s tradition and history, she has celebrated Eid al-Fitr with her extended family, such as sons, daughters and grandchildren. “Then we from the PDIP DPP and other people close to Mrs. Mega went to Teuku Umar for Eid,” said Basarah. (Z-6)
