The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has not prevented the CHU Gabriel Touré from successfully accomplishing its missions and satisfying patients. Despite the difficulties encountered in 2022, the CHU achieved a record of nearly two billion francs, according to the results of the 46th session of the Board of Directors which was held this Thursday, April 6, 2023 in the conference room of the center , under the presidency of El Hadj Sidy Konaké.
This ordinary session brought together the members of the board of directors, the heads of departments and services as well as an audience of journalists. It made it possible to draw up an uncompromising assessment of the life of the hospital, to present the draft minutes of the 45th ordinary session of the board of directors, to evaluate the execution of the recommendations of the 45th session, to present the activity report for 2022, the financial report and the programming for the year 2023.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors, El Hadj Sidy Konaké, stressed the importance of this session to provide the Gabriel Touré hospital with a new roadmap. He insisted on the need to place the patient at the heart of the priorities to ensure their well-being.
Despite the record achievement of nearly two billion francs, the year 2022 was difficult due to the global economic situation linked to the war in Ukraine, budget collectives limiting the financing of activities, as well as an incident related to lightning which caused a temporary shutdown of many equipment.
The director general of the CHU Gabriel Touré, Dr Abdoulaye Sanogo, presented the provisional budget for the year 2023 which amounts to five billion 954 million CFA francs, slightly down from the previous year. Despite these difficulties, the CHU Gabriel Touré has managed to carry out certain activities for the well-being of patients, which is positive according to him.
Finally, the Chairman of the Board of Directors urged the administrators to finalize the establishment project to provide a friendly working environment for staff and visitors, and to prepare the ground for the hospital’s deep rehabilitation project.
