The dream of building a provincial vaccine depot in Centenario ended abruptly. The bidding process that was carried out with money from an international bank failed, according to the Ministry of Health of the Nation in relation to the national public tender from last year.
Argentina had requested a loan to the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) to launch a program to support the strategy to expand coverage and access to health. One of the links in this program was to build a provincial vaccine warehouse in the province of Neuquén.
During the management of Javier Bertoldi in the municipality of Centenario had been enthusiastic regarding doing it in a lot that he gave up in the Industrial Park. Less than a year later, the project, which, along with other initiatives, had a budget of 35 million dollars, was declared unsuccessful.
The management of Omar Gutierrez It had been decided that it was going to be built in the city of Centenario. The concreteness of it implied that he had to meet the necessary requirements to optimize the maintenance of the cold chain and the distribution of vaccines throughout the province.
In December 2022, The municipality signed a bailment contract to grant the Province the use of a property with a total area of 2,500 square meters in the town located in the Industrial Park area.
The decision to advance with this initiative in said town was linked to its strategic location, given the proximity to the capital of Neuquén and the fact that it is part of a road corridor that is in full growth thanks to several works that are in full execution.
- 35
- million dollars was the budget assigned to the project.
- 348
- square meters was the planned surface, with adequate thermal and environmental conditions.
The Warehouse was a modular construction with complete equipment, financed by the Nation, which will allow the collection of various medicines and drugs from the Province.
I was going to have 348 square meters covered with thermal, environmental and administrative process conditions that optimize the maintenance of the cold chaineither. At the same time, centralizing storage would favor logistics and distribution tasks in the province.
Strictly speaking, the program financed by the international bank did not fail throughout the country.
In 2021 was awarded the completion works of the provincial vaccine storage centers of Between RÃos, Formosa, Santa Fe and Tucumán through financing from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI).
The construction of storage centers is part of the plan to strengthen the cold chain of vaccines that began in 2010 with the aim that each province has adequate space for storing vaccines and other supplies associated with the vaccination process.
These awarded works thus constitute a new advance of the plan and are the continuity of the centers recently inaugurated in Mendoza and Santiago del Estero, and other similar ones in Chaco and Córdoba.
