The Prosecutor’s Office requests a reprimand against Keiko Fujimori for “misleading” the Judiciary regarding a trip to England

The anti-corruption prosecutor Jose Domingo Perez has requested a warning before the Judiciary of the leader of Fuerza Popular, Keiko Fujimori, for, presumably, having breached with the rule of conduct “inform regarding their activities”.

According to the petition sent to the Preparatory Investigation Court, Fujimori requested the Second Criminal Chamber of National Appeals, on September 15, leaving the country from November 30 to December 9 “to attend as a speaker at the ‘Oxford Union Society’ in England and exchange ideas at the ‘World Law Foundation’ in spain”.

To support said request, the legal defense of Fujimori Higuchi attached “the respective letters of invitation”: the first, issued by the Oxford Union Society on July 14 of this year; and the second, sent by Javier Cremades“president of the WJA and the WLF World Law Foundation” in which the leader of Fuerza Popular is invited to “see its headquarters in Madrid” between December 5 and 8.

However, according to the prosecution, Keiko Fujimori “has not reported that Oxford Union Society (…) had declined to invite her”.

“As demonstrated by the hearing records and video records (…), the defendant did not report such circumstance either before the Court of First Instance or before the Criminal Chamber, having misled the Superior Judges who authorized the trip a England”, indicates the tax petition.

According to domingo perez“it is a public and notorious fact that Oxford Union Society had refused to invite Keiko Fujimori” to the aforementioned event.

“Objectively, it is shown that the aforementioned defendant breached her obligation to inform that there was no invitation in progress; even worse, knowing that circumstance did not report to the Criminal Chamber in the appeal hearing so that it would be aware when the request for his trip was discussed, ”the document indicates.

“Travel authorization was sent on November 29”

Regarding the authorization to Keiko Fujimori to attend the aforementioned events in Europe, his lawyer, Giulliana Loza, pointed out that said permission arrived on the night of November 29.

“just last night [29/11] Mrs Keiko Fujimori He received authorization to travel, that is why we are validating his itinerary to inform the Judiciary,” he said in Twitter.

He also noted that, up to that moment, “no ticket reservation or passport renewal had been processed, nor will it be done until a definitive itinerary is available.”

It should be noted that on that day, the Second National Criminal Court of Appeals revoked the resolution of the Fourth Preparatory Investigation Court and authorized the trip of Fujimori Higuchi to England and Spain, from November 30 to December 9 next.

However, regarding the cancellation of the invitation to Fujimori to England, at the close of this note, neither the leader of Fuerza Popular nor her lawyer had spoken Giuliana Loza.
