Analysts found that the percentage of apartment price declines was the highest in 10 years.
According to Jikbang, in the first quarters (January to March) and the second quarters (April to June) of this year, the rate of decline in apartment prices across the nation and in Seoul exceeded 40%, the highest level since the first quarter of 2019.
In the third quarter of this year, the percentage of apartment price declines nationwide and Seoul so far were 48.6% and 54.7%, respectively, which is the highest level in 10 years on a quarterly basis, Jikbang explained.
Jikbang said, “The recent trend in which the percentage of down transactions increases as the transaction volume decreases can be interpreted as a signal that the transition to a downturn in the apartment market is underway. Therefore, the decline in trading and the decline in trading will continue for the time being.”
