Sudan – Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander of the Sudanese Army, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, said during the economic conference in the city of Port Sudan on the Red Sea coast in the east of the country that the war with the Rapid Support Forces is nearing the end, stressing that there is no room for negotiation and truce with what he called “enemies of the people.”
The following are the highlights of Al-Burhan’s speech at the conference:
- This war is at its end.
- There is no opportunity to make peace with the enemies of the Sudanese people.
- We reject foreign interference and dictates on Sudan.
- There is no future or presence for Rapid Support and its supporters in Sudan.
- The future of the alliance with the countries of the region and the world is based on the outcomes and outcomes of the war.
- We completely reject the National Congress Party holding a Shura Council meeting and will not accept political action that poses a threat to the country’s unity.
- The fighters in the field do not belong to any party, neither the “National Conference” nor any other party, contrary to the claims of some political forces.
- Sudan did not agree to the British draft resolution, as some skeptics claimed.
- The British draft resolution violates Sudanese sovereignty.
- The resolution did not condemn “supporters of the rebellion.”
Britain recently submitted a draft resolution to the United Nations Security Council calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Sudan and the protection of civilians from the conflict that has been tearing the country apart since April 2023.
