“The promise” has been one of the phenomena of the year on Spanish television. The RTVE series has done nothing more than break audience records on public TV, with an average of more than a million viewers, which even threatens bets that seemed safe, such as Turkish soap operas. Such is the success that the network decided to suddenly extend the period drama’s schedule, from Monday, June 19 to Friday, June 23, for the premiere of its second season.

“La promesa” had a new schedule during its broadcast on La 1 from Monday, June 19 to Friday, June 23, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:06 p.m. (local time). In other words, the RTVE series premiered a chapter and a half in its daily programming, completing seven episodes projected on the small screen.
The surprise was great for the viewers because, without prior notice, the series continued to air after 5:00 p.m., as usual. And, seeing that it worked in the figures, the television channel La 1 repeated the formula until Friday, June 23.
With this change, for example, the Turkish soap opera “Original Sin” on Antena 3 fell by 2.3 points, achieving 10.3% of the audience on Tuesday, June 20, without exceeding one million viewers. On the other hand, “La promesa” reached 11.9% as of 5:33 p.m., with a total of 1 million 60 thousand viewers.

WILL THE NEW SCHEDULE OF “THE PROMISE” BE MAINTAINED ALL THROUGHOUT SEASON 2?
It is expected that the schedule of “La promesa” will be the usual one as of Monday, June 26, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Spain on the television channel La 1. However, sudden changes are not usually be notified by the RTVE series, so more surprises cannot be ruled out.
What did affect the extension of “La promesa” in the programming of La 1 was the broadcast of the series “El paraíso de las señoras”, which was cut both in airtime and in viewers.
