The Professional Council of Economic Sciences of Córdoba (CPCE) commemorated its 75th anniversary with a camaraderie lunch in which professionals from the activity, from various chambers, from other professional associations and political authorities, were brought together.

Teresita Bersano has been the president of the Council for a year, the first woman to hold that position since the institution’s inception.

In dialogue with The voice, Bersano spoke regarding the challenges of the institution and the profession in general: “The most important challenge is the one we have with this society and everything that is happening around us. For example, we have to approach technology, artificial intelligence as an opportunity and not see it as a threat.”

For Bersano, artificial intelligence can mean relief in the operational tasks of accountants in their daily professional practice.

On the other hand, the president referred to the need for the institution to “update” to the new generations: “We cannot work with the procedures we have been using all these years. Today the generations of new professionals think differently, they prioritize immediacy and the incorporation of technologies in their work processes.”

Teresita Bersano also reflects on her experience as a woman in the professional field. In general, she considers that she did not face major inconveniences due to her gender, but she does recognize that in her professional practice, especially in Santa Rosa de Río Primero where she advised clients in the agricultural activity, she had to hear comments such as: “What does this woman know? of cows?”, in a clear underestimation due to her gender.

She highlighted her passion for what she does and her dedication, which led her to occupy prominent roles in the institution, including the presidency of the SME commission, being an auditor of the Provident Fund, then president of the Fund and later, when she joined to the Professional Council, occupying the positions of pro-secretary and vice president until reaching the presidency.

For Teresita Bersano, assuming the leadership of the Professional Council of Economic Sciences of Córdoba represents a double responsibility: “Turning 75 years old and being the first female president.”

The event
