Beware of compotes in gourds that you give to your children. A batch has been subject to a national recall since Friday March 3, announces Rappel Conso, relayed by the Union. These are compotes in gourds (4×90 g) from the U brand, and organic, apple-strawberry, apple-apricot and apple flavors.
They are sold in U stores (Super U, Hyper U, etc.) and have lot numbers L9450 (barcode 3256226396817), L9423 (barcode 3256226396848), L9282 (barcode 3256226396831) and L9283 (barcode 3256226396862). All of these batches have a minimum durability date of October 31, 2023.
The authorities are calling on consumers not to eat these compotes, to bring them back to the point of sale and to be reimbursed.
The cause of this national recall? A risk of patulin, a mycotoxin, that is to say a substance produced by microscopic fungi, mainly Penicillium expansum or Aspergillus clavatus. Patulin results in molds that develop in particular on cereals, legumes or fruits, notes Actu.fr.
It is known to cause gastrointestinal disorders with ulcerations, distentions and haemorrhages, even disturbances of renal function, at higher doses, underlines ANSES.
